Terms and Conditions of Business

  1. Introduction

Archdeacon Motors is a family-run partnership providing MOT Class 4 testing, servicing, repairs and associated vehicle services. These Terms & Conditions apply to all work carried out.

  2. Estimates, Authorisation and Additional Work
    1. Estimates are based on available information and may change.
    2. No major work will be carried out without customer authorisation. However, where we are unable to contact the customer and minor or low-cost work is necessary to complete the job safely, avoid delay, or allow the vehicle to be returned the same day, we may proceed with such work at our discretion. This applies only to essential items required for safety, MOT completion, or to finish an authorised job. All such work will be explained on collection.
    3. Additional issues discovered will be reported before proceeding where possible.
    4. Any stated completion times are estimates only. We are not liable for delays caused by parts availability, supplier issues/services or unforeseen mechanical complications.
  3. MOT Testing
    1. MOT fees are due whether the vehicle passes or fails.
    2. Retests follow DVSA rules.
    3. A written MOT result/failure sheet is provided.

    1. Parts may be new, OEM-equivalent, genuine or refurbished.
    2. All work is carried out with reasonable care and skill.
  5. Second-Hand / Used Parts
    1. Second-hand parts are fitted only at customer request.
    2. Used parts are supplied WITHOUT WARRANTY and entirely at customer risk.
    3. No guarantee of lifespan, condition or performance is given.
    4. Labour remains warranted, but the part itself is not covered.
  6. Prices and Payment
    1. Prices are as quoted or authorised.
    2. Payment is required IN FULL on vehicle collection.
    3. Vehicles will not be released until paid in full.
  7. Storage Charges

Vehicles not collected within 48 hours may incur £20 per day storage.

  8. Warranty
    1. Labour is warranted for 12 months or 12,000 miles.

    3. Warranty excludes wear, misuse, neglect or continued driving with known faults.

    2. We are not liable for failure of used parts fitted at customer request.
    3. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death or personal injury resulting from our negligence.
